Preparing for Loss

Meet with a Bereavement Companion

What to expect:

A compassionate, trust building conversation that develops a companionship that fits the needs of the individual bereaved.

The Bereaved Child:

Children require a very specific approach in their grief process, which is strongly influenced by their age and ability to process complex emotions, such as grief.

Your child’s bereavement companion will meet with you, and them, as often as they need, to help them understand their grief and how it is an important tool, that will contribute to their emotional strength as they continue to grow.

The Bereaved Adult:

As adults, our grief and our ability to move through that grief is very unique. Most of us want to push it deep down and forget about it. For most, that temporary relief is rewarded by eliminating the immediate pain of loss.

For all of us, our grief will always find ways to surface, and unless given the time and space to move through our grief, it can come out in ways we could not have anticipated.

Your bereavement companion will be available to you, when you feel comfortable and safe to move forward, taking the next step in your bereavement journey.
